Making of a Comic: Go Go Goat Eyes (pt.1)

My Horror Comic, the title may sound dumb...but well, that was the best I could come up with...

So for the past few weeks I've been working on this thing, it's my first time tackling horror and well...we'll see how it goes! Right now I've worked on a few pages but I'm leaving you with the cover and "monster" design for now. I'm trying go for a Japanese Ero-Guro manga style inspired by guys like Suehiro Maruo, Hideshi Hino, and Shintaro Kago, although with a Mexican setting and perspective. They're very talented and unconventional storytellers and severy underrated in the west atleast, but we'll touch on that some other time. I don't want to reveal much yet, but the story will take place in a Mexican Border town, where a wealthy family sees apparitions of a ghostly woman walking around their property. I spent weeks trying to come up with a way to convey a sense of discomfort with this particular character, and after days of brainstorming I think I can say I'm satisfied with her for now. I always thought goat eyes were creepy growing up, they have a very otherworldly aura to their gaze. They say eyes are the window to your soul, and I wanted her gaze to say that she's lost her humanity in a way...she's now just a creature, a creature out to hunt.
